    Hi and welcome to My Kids Psych website, I am Dr. Jeryl D. Kershner, developmental and behavioral pediatrician and child psychiatrist. On this website, you will find information on developmental/behavioral pediatrics and child and adolescent psychiatry and how these medical specialties can improve the well-being of your child.

    Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics is the field of medicine devoted to the developmental and psychosocial aspects of children from birth to age 21. Child Psychiatry specializes in the diagnosis and the treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling, and the behaviors that can affect children, adolescents, and their families.  I am trained in both fields, which is not common in my specialties, and also have years of experience practicing Pediatrics. It is with this unique perspective, that I am able to offer families the advantages of a medical education, years of specialized training, and the benefits of professional technology and it’s advances. I am your advocate. The well being of my patients and their families, is my utmost goal. Every child is different. Not every therapy is indicated and the same treatment is not successful for every child. Together, we will explore your child’s individual needs, while applying the most appropriate, up-to-date, and successful therapies available to solve your child’s particular problems.

    It is my firm belief that early identification of developmental disorders is important to the long term success of treatment. Children with developmental disorders have both special health care needs (medical) as well as behavioral needs, and require the training and experience of a medical doctor (M.D.) who specializes in both. As a Harvard-Trained, Board-Certified Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician and a Fellowship Trained Child Psychiatrist, I am uniquely equipped to navigate through the complex disorders that can affect infants, toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents, and young adults.
